Welcome to HighHand Valais Blacknose. We are passionate about breeding strong, healthy Valais Blacknose Sheep with only Genotype 1 and 2 status and excellent breed standard markings.
Our HighHand Valais Blacknose stock is selected to give the very best pedigree quality and all sheep are registered with Grassroots.

ABOUT HIGHHAND VALAIS BLACKNOSE
Sam and Xandra are two great friends who both grew up on small holdings; Sam in Sussex with goats and horses, Xandra in Cumbria with cattle and horses. The HighHand Valais Blacknose partnership was conceived from our love of horses and time spent on the showing circuit. Our husbands and children have been helpful and encouraging in our enterprise to breed Valais Blacknose sheep.

The farm is a professional MV accredited pedigree sheep and commercial ewe farm based in the beautiful countryside of Northamptonshire with the very best pasture for sheep.
Valais Blacknose sheep have always been a favourite breed for us both and after years of searching for a Group 1/Group 2 breeding set, we have now established a perfect pedigree flock. Temperament and conformation of the stock are equally important in preserving this special breed of sheep. They are known for their exceptional friendliness and this, combined with their distinct appearance, make them an absolute joy to work with.
All of our pure-bred Valais Blacknose sheep are registered with Grassroots, have DNA certified parentage and are on the Heptavac-P Plus immunisation. Our ewes and rams are all of genotype 1 or 2 and as such carry the highest scrapie resistance passed through genetics. They are the only genotypes allowed for export out of the UK.
